Passed away at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the age of 80 years. Allan was born in Mornington Township, a son of the late Elam Horst and former Lydia Albrecht. Loving husband of the late Emma Horst (nee Kipfer). Dear father of Marlene and husband Wesley Martin of RR # 4 Listowel and Grandfather of Katrina and Wendell. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Salome Habegger of Kentucky, Joseph and Ada Horst, Mahlon and Bev Horst, all of Milverton, Samuel and Susan Horst, Reuben and Kathleen Horst, Nelson Horst, John and Martha Horst, Clayton and Erma Horst, all of Tennessee, William and Ingrid Horst of RR #1 Brunner, Henry and Julia Horst, Ivan and Ruthann Horst, all of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law Edward Habegger and sister-in-law Eva Horst. Allan is also remembered by the Kipfer Family and many nieces and nephews.
Allan was a Building Inspector for the Township of Wellesley where he had been employed prior to his retirement. He was a member of Woodlawn Mennonite Fellowship and enjoyed fixing cream separators as his hobby.
Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. The funeral service will take place at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, Hawkesville on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.. Interment in Hillside Cemetery.
