Ropp, Daniel W.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 24, 2022, at Nithview Community in New Hamburg.

He was born 86 years ago in Wellesley Township and had resided in Wellesley. A son of the late Amos and Sarah (Wagler) Ropp. Dan is now reunited with his beloved wife Shirley Ropp (Brenneman) whom he sorely missed the last 21 years.

Loving father of Brian (Donna) of Tavistock, Roger and friend Evelyn of Wellesley, and Mark (Elizabeth) of Innerkip. Cherished grandpa of Jessica, Kristin, Alison and Dylan. Admired brother and brother-in-law of Norm Ropp (Mary Ann), Katie Kuepfer, Al Kennell and Jeannette Brenneman. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Dan was predeceased by sisters, Tillie Kennel, Laura Noll, Eva Arnold, sisters-in-law Margaret Woinoski, Ruth Yantzi, brothers-in-law Leo Noll, Art Woinoski, Jerome Arnold, Donald Brenneman, Nelson Yantzi and John (Jack) Kuepfer.

Dan was a loyal employee of J.M. Schneiders in Wellesley and Kitchener for 40 years. He was a member of the Wellesley Volunteer Fire Department for 19 years as well a volunteer for the Wellesley Apple Butter & Cheese Festival for many years.

Dan enjoyed camping, traveling, snowmobiling and other outdoor activities, as well as wood working, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg for visitation on Friday, April 1st, 2022, from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, at Steinmann Mennonite Church, 1316 Snyders Rd W. Baden, at 11a.m. with interment to follow at the Steinmann Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Everyone is invited for lunch and fellowship at the church following the burial.

As expressions of sympathy, Donations to Steinmann Mennonite Church would be greatly appreciated.

Masking at the visitation and service is optional.
