Obituary for David Lawrence William MARSHALL

DAVID LAWRENCE WILLIAM MARSHALL

(November 5, 1966 – December 11, 2022)

It is with great sadness that the family of David Marshall announces his passing on December 11, 2022 at London Health Science Centre – Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. Born on November 5, 1966 in Montreal, Quebec. David is predeceased by his beloved wife, Alison Cristen Marshall (Mooney) and his father, Lawrence Marshall. He is survived by his loving son, Dylan Marshall, his mother, Ann Marshall, his brother John Marshall (Tinna Petursson) sister, Elizabeth Kuranoff (David) and many nieces and nephews.

David was a very dedicated husband and father. His greatest joy was spending family time with Alison and Dylan. They enjoyed travelling and vacationed in many places such as England, Scotland, France and Australia. He was always planning and looking forward to the next travel adventure.

David had a brilliant wit and sense of comedic timing. He never failed to get a laugh from family, friends and work colleagues. As one friend put it so well, David was “as brilliant as he was humble and as genuine as accomplished.” David had an incredible mind for history and current events and could not be beaten in any trivia challenge. He had a love for politics and a passion for discussing the merits or pitfalls of each politician or party. David was also a devoted sports fan who continued to root for the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and San Diego Chargers no matter the annual outcome.

David was dedicated to his work and took great pride in being a leading expert in supply chain management technologies. Over the course of his rich career he was most recognized for his contributions to his team.

David also had a passion for cooking and loved to host family and friends to enjoy his culinary creations. He was unmatched in his skills at a barbecue and managed to feed his family for months with that one appliance during an extended kitchen renovation.

David’s kindness of heart, generous spirit and capacity for love will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him. We will miss his amazing voice, warm hugs and ability to bring a smile and laughter to all. Rest in peace dearest.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to London Health Sciences Foundation (specifically organ failure research) would be greatly appreciated, or alternatively a donation to a charity of your choice.

A Memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Walton Memorial Church at 2489 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville, ON L6L 1H9.
