Baer, Eldon Wayne – passed away on Tuesday November 24, 2009 one week after suffering a massive stroke, in his 81st year at his residence Greenwood Court Nursing Home, Stratford. He was born December 30, 1928 in Wilmot Township youngest son of the late Ezra & Elizabeth (Good) Baer. Wayne was a member of Avon Mennonite Church, Stratford. He enjoyed farm work for many years and more recently volunteered as a groundskeeper at Greenwood Court.
Wayne is lovingly remembered by brother Morgan & his wife Mae of New Hamburg, by sister Erma Meadows of Stratford, by sisters-in-law Pauline Baer of Moorefield, and Rose Baer of Abbotsford, B.C., and by a number of nieces and nephews and their families.
Wayne was predeceased by brothers Elmer, Curtis, and Orval and by brother-in-law Roy Meadows.
Friends and relatives may call at Avon Mennonite Church, 90 Greenwood Dr., Stratford on Thursday (today) from 2-3 p.m. and again from 7-9 p.m at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg. On Friday November 27, 2009 a public committal service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at Avon Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Herb Sawatzky officiating.
