Obituary for Elizabeth Cook

Passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener. Elizabeth resided at Nithview Community, New Hamburg and was formerly of R.R. # 1 Shakespeare. She was born 89 years ago in Peel Township and was the daughter of the late Angus & Leah (Bauman) Bauman.
Beloved wife of Melvin Cook whom she married October 1, 1971. Dear sister of William Bauman & wife Elsie of R.R. # 2 Drayton. Sadly missed by 15 nieces and 8 nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her sisters Rebecca Martin & husband Aden, Sarah Bauman and brothers Andrew Bauman, Rufus Bauman & wife Magdalena, Ephraim Bauman and Philip Bauman in infancy.
Elizabeth was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg where she was a former member of the WMSC. She enjoyed crocheting and playing Scrabble.
Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday December 5, 2014 from 6-9 p.m.. The interment will take place prior to the funeral service at Lingelbach Cemetery, Shakespeare on Saturday December 6, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg with Pastor Jan Steckley and Pastor Kevin Peters Unrau officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
