Passed away peacefully on Monday February 23, 2015 at Stratford General Hospital. Elmer resided in Brunner and was born 89 years ago in Wellesley. He was the son of the late John & Emma (Roes) Ropp.
Beloved husband of the late Edna (Wagler) Ropp who predeceased him August 11, 2008. Loving father of Laverne & Elaine Ropp of Walton, Miriam (predeceased 2008) Murray & Hannah Wagler of Crosshill, Stephen & Rosemary Ropp of Brunner, Donald & Laurie Ropp of New Hamburg, James & Mary Ellen Ropp of Monkton, Larry & Susan Ropp of Lucknow, Andrew & Wanda Ropp of Brunner. Sadly missed by his 44 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Adeline & Elmer Erb, Barbara Kennel, Annie Ropp, Milton Roth, Marie Bender, Vera Dyck, Esther & Roy Scheerer, Deborah & Joseph Zehr, Florence & Andres Bergsma, Mary Wagler and Viola Wagler. Elmer was predeceased by his brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Emmanuel & Mary Ropp, Esther & Joseph Gerber, Clara Roth, Daniel Ropp, Samuel Ropp in infancy, Joseph Kennel, Daniel Wagler, Omar Wagler, Norman & Esther Wagler, Eileen Wagler, Earl Bender and John Dyck.
Elmer was a member of Fellowship Haven Amish Mennonite Church, Monkton.
Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton tonight Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and again Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. The funeral will take place on Thursday February 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Church, Wellesley. Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Amish Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Master’s International Ministries.
