Joe Weber
Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Monday April 20, 2009. He resided in New Hamburg, and was born 82 years ago, a son of the late Leo & Laura (Voisin) Weber. Joe was a licensed mechanic for 59 years. He was a loyal and proud employee of Erb Transport as a fleet manager from 1974 to1993, then as an antique restorer from 1993 to 2009. Joe was a member of Holy Family RC Church, New Hamburg, and was an avid International truck restorer. He enjoyed boating, golf, hockey, and spending time with friends.
Devoted husband of Nelda (Sugg) Weber who he married December 31, 1987, and the late Shirley (Haffner) Weber who predeceased him in 1978. Cherished father of Wendy & Dave Weber of New Hamburg, and grandfather of Dustin & Cornelia, Cole, and Lauren. Step-father of Gerry & Margaret Brown of Port Dover, Marilyn & Irvin Faruzel of Waterloo, and Debbie & Dan Main of Barrie, and step-grandpa of Sean, Joey, Tim, Sam, Zuda, Kyla & Gunter, Kalen, Krista & Shane and Patrick & Kathleen. Step-great-grandpa of Dali, Josh, Deborah, and Allison. Dear brother-in-law of Clare & Marie Sugg of Kitchener, Ellen & Bill Kloepfer of Sudbury, Margery Haffner-Philips & Rick Philips of Kitchener, and Elsie Haffner of New Hamburg. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mildred & Carl Binkley, Ronald Haffner, Margaret & Bill Paterson, Leroy & Rachelle Sugg, and Irene Sugg.
Relatives and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-9p.m. On Thursday April 23, 2009 prayers will be said at the funeral home at 10:15a.m. followed by the funeral mass at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, New Hamburg at 11:00am with Father Jim Malone officiating. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery (Holy Family), New Hamburg. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, or St. Mary’s Hospital, Cardiac Care Unit. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home at 8:45p.m. Wednesday.
