Passed away on Friday March 15, 2013 at her residence Nithview Community, New Hamburg. She was born 86 years ago in Germany and was the daughter of the late Franz & Anna Plaumann.
Beloved wife of the late Christian Schmidt who predeceased her September 3, 1998. Loving mother of Werner & Pauline Schmidt of London, Karen & Ken Barnes of New Hamburg and Fred & Kathy Schmidt of Thunder Bay. Loving grandmother of Jennifer Barnes, Brad Barnes, Laura & Scott Palmer, Allison Schmidt, Elizabeth Moore, Matthew Schmidt, Heather Schmidt and Kaleigh Schmidt. Lena was predeceased by her grandson Robert Schmidt. Also remembered by family in Germany.
Cremation has taken place and a family service was held. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Nithview Community, New Hamburg. Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg assisted with the arrangements.
