After a courageous battle with cancer, Ralph passed away peacefully with family at his side on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton. Ralph was a long-time resident of Baden and was born 67 years ago.
Loving and cherished husband of Pierrette (Leclair) Schmidt whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage with. Cherished father of Jennifer and husband Dave Beaver and Dave and wife Brittany Schmidt. Proud Opa of Mason and Aidan Beaver and Brooklynn and Charlotte Schmidt. Ralph will be remembered by his siblings, Bruce Schmidt, Linda Schmidt, Lisa Wight and Larry Schmidt as well as by their families. He will forever be missed by his mother Frieda (Vogel) Schmidt. Predeceased and reunited with his father C. Ward Schmidt.
Ralph was an avid outdoors man. He loved spending days on the water fishing and being out hunting with his family and friends. He enjoyed tending to his gardens and was a loyal employee of Hitachi for over 30 years. Above all things in life Ralph loved his family dearly and enjoyed his time spent watching his children and now grandchildren play sports cheering them on.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Wilmot Centre Missionary Church. A Celebration of Ralph’s life will also be held at Wilmot Centre Missionary Church on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 11 – 1 p.m. words and memories may be shared during this time. Interment will follow in the Wilmot Centre Cemetery.
