Bender, Robert Clair
Passed away suddenly on Friday August 23, 2013 at Listowel Memorial Hospital, Listowel. Robert resided in New Hamburg and formerly farmed at R.R. # 1 Tavistock. He was the son of the late Clarence & Ida (Roth) Bender.
Beloved husband of Laurene (Kuepfer) Bender who he married June 15, 1974. Dear brother-in-law of Beatrice & husband Frank Marshall-Taylor of London and Liz & husband Paul Collins of Stratford. Sadly missed by his nephews Jason (Sok), James (Nak) and niece, Robin (Sean), great-nieces Kaylene, Jayla, Mariah, Lorren, Taylor and great-nephew Dylan. Robert was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Ivan & Susie Kuepfer.
Robert was a member of Cassel Mennonite Church, R.R. # 1 Tavistock. He volunteered at the New Hamburg Thrift Centre and enjoyed delivering travel trailers for Sky-Linc Systems in Rodney.
Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and again Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday August 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Cassel Mennonite Church, R.R. # 1 Tavistock with Pastor Wanda Roth Amstutz officiating. Interment to follow in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Cassel Mennonite Church or Mennonite Central Committee.
